the PAST revisited for now and beyond.

I’ve always been fascinated by objects from the past, and I’m passionate about using materials in new ways and to their absolute end of life. A vintage tablecloth can become a skirt. A ratty footstool can become a functional and standout piece for your space.

I believe that we don’t need more things; rather, we need more meaningful things.

As a designer, I’m often asked some common questions. Here a couple that I like to talk about:

1) Where do you get your inspiration?

What I create is inspired by what I find. Old curtains, upholstery samples, damaged clothing and countless other items catch my eye and I envision them remade into something new.

2) Where do your materials and fabrics come from?

In a world of overusing the word sustainability, I’m hesitant to include it in my claims; however, I feel I do the best I can to make quality items, reduce waste and promote mindful consumption.

My new fabrics are primarily cotton and linens or blends of each, from which I make items meant to be used for a long time (think timeless skirts and scarves, and reusables like towels and wipes). My second hand (upcycled if you prefer) materials come from many sources, including estate sales, thrift shops, family & friends and also customers for custom projects.
